Why should I have my bins cleaned professionally?
- . Eliminates Bacteria & Germs– Garbage cans are a breeding ground for harmful bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria. Any of these can pose health risks to you and your family. Our disinfection process kills 99%+ of these pathogens.
- . Reduces Foul Odors– Everyone’s garbage cans stink. Food waste, pet waste, organic matter, diapers, or a combination of all the above create unpleasant smells. A deep cleaning removes odor-causing bacteria, leaving your cans fresh.
- . Keeps Pests Away– Flies, maggots, rats, raccoons, and possums are attracted to dirty trash cans. Cleaning your trash cans removes food residue and smells that attract these pests.
How often should I clean my bins?
Given the density of our neighborhoods and the popularity of folks tossing their pet waste and other things into other people’s cans, we recommend having your trash cans sanitized monthly.
Why should I pay to have my bins cleaned when I can do it myself?
Cleaning/disinfecting your trash cans by yourself is a time-consuming and very messy process. Plus, do you really want to expose yourself to E. coli, salmonella, and listeria to name a few? What are you going to do with the dirty water (including whatever non-ecofriendly cleaner you used) and debris when you’re finished? If you dump it in the street or alley your exposing others to the germs and it’s going to roll on over to your neighbor’s house and ultimately into the storm drain and into the ocean.
South Bay Can Cleaners uses specifically designed equipment and eco-friendly processes including 200+ degree chemical-free water at 3,500psi to remove dirt and grime and to kill germs, bacteria and viruses, which will leave your cans clean and hygienically safe. Plus, we all the spray water and debris is self-contained in our state-of-the-art truck and disposed of in an environmentally conscious manner.

We get it and understand that things like vacation and unforeseen events happen. We kindly ask that you let us know with as much advanced notice as possible. With our text/email reminder system, we will make it as easy as possible for you to facilitate a rescheduling. There will be no charge for rescheduling with advance notice. If communication has not been made in advance by the client, and the bins are not present, the client will be subject to a $25 rescheduling.
Will my bins be spotless?
The happiness of our customer base is always our #1 priority. We will make every effort to get your bins as clean as possible, with the goal of them looking brand new. That said, the reality is that most trash bins have been heavily abused for many years. We will use several different techniques to remove stubborn stains and gunk, but sometimes it takes multiple treatments to get everything off the inside. This is another reason we recommend our subscription plans. Your bins will continue to get better and better with each treatment. All this said, if you are not happy with the result, then we are not happy. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns, and we will do what it takes to make it right for you!
